ART BRUT: American Folk Art Museum

Going to the ART BRUT exhibit at the American Folk Art Museum maybe just the thing to do with your all seeing all knowing teen in the following weeks up until January 10th 2016.   Art Brut means "raw art."  A term that was coined by the French artist Jean Dubuffet, and used to describe  art works by patients in mental institutions mostly in France, that he collected in the 1940's.  Dubuffet aptly named the originators of these works Creators and declared their endeavors  to be "uncontaminated by artistic culture."  The collection of sculptures, drawings, paintings and all types of handmade objects in this exhibit, can justly be described as an epiphany.
